Delhi High Court  Introduction In a recent case that underscores the importance of ethical conduct in the legal profession, the Delhi High Court imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on a lawyer who filed a petition without the signature or authorization of the person he claimed to represent. This stern decision serves as a wake-up call against the misuse of judicial processes and reiterates the duty of legal professionals to act with integrity. What Happened? The Delhi High Court was hearing a petition allegedly filed on behalf of a litigant. However, during the proceedings, the Court discovered that the petitioner had neither signed the petition nor authorized the lawyer to file it . In other words, the entire case was brought before the Court without the litigant’s consent or participation.
