Important Sections of NDPS Act: Section 8 : Bans production, possession, sale, or use of narcotics (except for medical or scientific use). Section 20 : Punishment for cannabis-related crimes: Small quantity : Up to 1 year jail or ₹10,000 fine. Intermediate quantity : Up to 10 years. Commercial quantity : 10–20 years in jail + fine.
